Lorna lovingly teaches yoga by the ocean, on a small subtropical island off the coast of Cornwall in the UK. Yoga is an essential part of being human: moving, breathing deeply, discovering the self through being. Lorna has a strong movement background in dance but has since cultivated a strong personal practice by discovering Bre and Flo. She found that there is more to yoga than stretching! It is the mental journey inwards, breathing deeply, and being consistent yogi that has been the most challenging yet life affirming aspect of yoga. Lorna holds a masters degree in Human Geography. Leaving the academic world behind, she moved to a small, remote island called Tresco to find a slower pace of being. The ocean and cold-water swimming are a crucial part of Lorna’s life and philosophy – she lives for the flow of the tides and surrenders to the magnificence of the waves. Lorna is a competitive rower (a great pulling exercise to balance all the chaturangas in her yoga practice!) and an on-call firefighter. Her modern vinyasa classes use fun, funky and functional movements and transitions to help create depth in the body and stillness in the mind - creating space for the journey to heart. Her goal is for more people to step onto the mat and create space in their day for their beautiful selves. She aims to show that yoga is more than stretching and wearing leggings. It strengthens your body, improves your mobility and deepens awareness of the self. You can find her almost always on the beach or in the ocean. Failing that, on Instagram @lornahayleyyoga, her website lornahayleyyoga.com and email hello@lornahayleyyoga.com. Lorna teaches in English.
